i'm 10 months old today!

my sweetest little boy! you have grown and changed so much over the past month! you've been walking for a couple of weeks now . . . getting braver by the day! you are trying to climb anything and everything - including braving the stairs! you love your "cowey" and get excited when we ask you if you want him! too cute! you have said your first word - "bye" complete with a wave! you are also saying "hi" now! you pretend most toys are phones and hold them up to your ear (this includes your sisters' dress-up shoes and bracelets!)! you have a smile that just lights up your whole face!

we have had quite a month . . . which is why this post is sooooo late. you were in no mood to take pictures . . . first an ear infection, then a double ear infection and bronchitis . . . and then another bronchial infection that they thought was pneumonia! you poor little guy! it's been a rough month . . . but you are soooo much better now! happy, smiley, and just soooo much fun! :)

you are eating everything we give you . . . no baby food for you! you don't want to snuggle and take your bottle anymore . . . you'll take a few sips then want to be left alone to do it yourself. uuuhhh. that makes me so sad. you still aren't sleeping through the night . . .you did for a few days, but then got sick . . . so i am hoping that'll happen again soon! you wake up between 3 and 4 most nights just to be changed and held . . . and then you're up around 6:30 ready to go! :)

you are such an amazing little guy. you are soooo funny and have the most amazing little laugh. i love to listen to your sisters trying to make you giggle! they try to out-do each other! you are soooo loved little guy! :)

splash park visit for everyone! :)

this was our first visit to the splash park this year with all four kiddos! they had a great time running around with our bffs! :) what a great afternoon! :) of course i think the highlight for the kids is always snacks . . . hello, they act like they don't get fed at home! :) with sonic drinks and lots of yummy goodies, a warm sunny day (until the showers came!), and lots of room to run and splash . . . this was a perfect afternoon! :)

"there are a lot of princes to marry"

i've had some sweet conversations with kam lately . . . here's the latest!

kam - ""grammy's your mom . . . but you don't live with her?"

me - "that's right . . . i'm your mommy, but when you get big you're going to live somewhere else. you're going to grow up, move somewhere else, get married, and have kids. but you'll always be my baby."

kam - silent for a minute, then "did you say i'm going to marry a prince? because there are a lot of princes to marry . . . a lot of prince charmings!"

oh sweet girl. yes, you will marry a prince!


and our conversation continued this afternoon . . .

me - "so, who are you going to marry?"

kam - "a prince. and i am going to be a princess! . . . are you going to marry a prince?"

me - "i am married. i married daddy. is he a prince?"

kam - pausing for a minute, then smiling - "he's not a prince. he's the boogeyman!"

painting the coop

with a little help from the girls bailey officially finished the chicken coop today! the girls had lots of fun painting . . . well, it was fun for about five minutes and then mck got a little bit of white paint on her hand and had a huge meltdown because she wanted to come in a take a bath to get it off "right now!" . . . after we got over the meltdown they continued painting for quite awhile! the coop looks great . . . the chickens are happy! in fact, tonight we found them all nestled together in one nest in the coop . . . so glad they have all that room! :)

recital 2010

the dress-rehearsal . . .

all six of us went to watch the girls dance and get a video of them practicing! the girls both did a super job . . . no nerves, lots of smiles, so much excitement! kam was in awe watching them and singing along as mck did her dance! we picked up the girls fav as a treat for doing so well . . . mc d's . . . and headed home! they were sooooo excited about saturday they couldn't fall asleep! :)

recital day . . .

the girls were all smiles before we left. grammy and sarah came to see the big show! we had a yummy dinner at home . . . all of us chilling and relaxing and eating in our bathrobes! . . . and then got ready for the big night! :)

mck's dance to "baby take a bow" was absolutely adorable! she did her little solo "twist" across the stage and blew a kiss to the audience! it was priceless! and her dance was so cute! she did great! ken did an awesome job dancing to "in the navy"! she remembered to smile and have fun . . . and remembered most of the complicated steps! she even decided to move her friend into her correct spot at the end of the performance! :) both the girls were thrilled with their peony flowers and box of candy and the adorable bracelets from grammy! we stopped to get ice cream on the way home . . . a perfect end to a perfect evening!

bentley and sawyer

my friend liz from elementary/middle school came to visit with her adorable 15 month old miracle baby, sawyer! b.c. and s had so much fun playing together! s is the littlest walking kid i have ever seen . . . and b.c. was eager to pick up a few new tricks from him! they had lots of fun sharing toys, chowing down together, even enjoying a bath together! we couldn't quite manage to get the boys on the same schedule so our outings were limited, but it was nice to have some down time at home playing! what fun! can't wait to get together again soon! :)

mck graduates from pre-k

so hard to believe our baby girl is officially going to kinder! mck had her pre-k program and graduation tonight. . . complete with lots of adorable songs and a skit of "the little red hen". she did so well . . . remembered all of her lines and spoke loud enough for all to hear! we are so proud of our mck! she has had a wonderful year with ms. b as her amazing teacher and the staff we love (and will miss so dearly) at kk! we feel so lucky to have found them 6 years ago . . . and find it so hard to be leaving them!

the chickens move out!

well, after a few weekends of work, the coop was finally ready for moving day! yea! the chickens are officially out of the garage and in the pen with the goats . . . enjoying the comforts of their coop whenever they please! :) bailey did a great job on the coop . . . it has four nesting boxes, several perches, a door for us to open and collect eggs, several vents, a door for the chickens to go in and out, and a door for us to enter to clean the coop! the chickens seem to be enjoying it . . . now all that's left is painting the coop! the girls can't wait! :) oh . . . and to wait for them to lay eggs . . . only another 3 months to go! :)

splash park 2010

kam, b.c., and i hit the splash park for the first time this year! i was sooooo excited for it to be a hit because it's one thing i think i can handle with all 4 kiddos . . . and it was a hit for sure! despite the freezing cold water and teenager invasion, b.c. and kam had fun getting wet! :) we can't wait to head back with the big girls! :) what a fun morning!

birthday trip 2010

what a wonderful weekend the girls had! it was packed full of fun . . . before we even left g'town! :)

we took the girls to the salon to get their fingers and toes painted! they were in heaven. they were all so still and so quiet . . . and of course everyone thought they were so cute and well behaved! what a fun (but rare!!!) treat! :) we had lunch at chick-fil-a and then hit the road! :)

next stop . . . the animal safari! the kids loved it! i think we arrived a little late in the day for all of the animals to be hungry . . . but there were still a few with appetites! one emu in particular really got a little too anxious for the food that ken had . . . see the picture at the bottom? :) poor kid! :) the girls loved the petting zoo . . . complete with brand new baby goats and an enormous pig! we checked out some cool peacocks too! then it was time to hit the hotel!

after checking in and getting settled we walked the river walk and headed to the rain forest cafe for a yummy dinner and lots of entertainment. the kids were in awe of everything. we sat right next to the elephant so they thought that was awesome too! we topped dinner off with a huge volcano dessert! poor little b.c. was so worn out by the time we got back to the hotel that he fell asleep in the stroller . . . a rare occurrence!

on saturday we hit six flags as they opened at 10 and went strong all day long. the kids rode all the rides . . . and some of them more than once. it was overcast and never got hotter than 80! how perfect! the girls had so much fun and were able to ride many of the rides together by themselves! it was a treat to watch them! we left the park around 5:30 with 4 tired kids!

sunday was a low key day . . . i woke up to lots of wonderful homemade presents from the kids and a few nice gifts and cards! we had a nice breakfast, visited the hotel animals one last time and then we toured the alamo, walked along the river, and just took it easy! bailey splurged and took us all on a carriage ride before we headed out of the city! what a great trip!

ken's snake

ken caught this cute little snake (with bailey's help). when it was time to let it go she took her own pictures of him crawling away! so cute. . . our own little animal rescuer! :) she is constantly capturing creatures and making cool habitats for them . . . i just have to remind her to let them go! :)

neverland festival

this is kamy before she left with her friend miss b for the afternoon to head to the neverland festival. it was her first time away from me (without being with grammy!). she had a wonderful time! i couldn't believe she didn't miss me a bit! :) she came home with a full report on everything she got to do . . . from seeing tink, to a pony ride, to a picnic lunch! what a fun afternoon for my sweet baby girl! she had so much fun that ken and mck convinced me to take them that afternoon . . .


so it was just mck and ken and i . . . how weird to not be carrying sippy cups or a diaper bag! it was nice to spend time with just the big girls . . . we were sad that there was no appearence by tink . . . but they had fun checking things out and picking out adorable fairy wands for all the girls! we stopped on the way home for an ice cream and some playtime! what a great day!

spa night for the girls!

spa night for the bailey girls! i got out all the bath goodies, made a special drink for the girls and had them put on their robes! they took a special bubble bath in the big tub, used special lotion and got their toes painted, all while sipping on their ice cream drinks! :) what a fun evening! i think they thought the coolest part was that there were no boys allowed! :) we'll be making this a monthly event!

mck loses tooth #2!

yep! she's already lost her second tooth! of course, she wiggled in almost 24/7 since the last tooth fell out! :) it was barely hanging on for several days and she finally let me pull it out! she looks too grown up with that big space in the front! wow! the tooth fairy left a yummy pack of gum and $1 . . . and an added bonus . . . pink sparkles everywhere! :) how fun! :)

i can tie!

ken began giving mck "tying lessons" about a year ago . . . every once in awhile she would sit down and demo how to tie . . . well, it paid off! the other day mck said, "mom, i can tie!" i watched her and she was so close! i showed her how to do it once . . . she copied it and now can do it on her own! :) we're not quite at the "mck can tie her own shoes" stage simply because we rarely have 10 minutes of time to sit and have her tie her shoes before we head out the door . . . but we'll get there soon enough! :) go mck! :)

time with grampy

grampy rode his motorcycle up for an evening to head out to the property g&g are planning to buy (FINALLY!) . . . the girls had fun putting him to work building with wood scraps and watching them play outside! it was a short visit . . . but sweet! he took off the next morning . . . but not before b.c. got to sit on the bike for a minute. you could just tell by looking at his face he knew he was cool! :)

poppy fest dancing 2010

the girls both took the stage again this year for the g'town poppy fest . . . and a little recital practice! :) they both did great! it's been so much fun watching them grow and become even better dancers! they were so excited to perform . . . didn't get that from me! :) what a fun morning! thanks so much to our bff's and ms. b for coming to watch them!

ken sported her recital outfit for her dance to "anchors away"/"in the navy" . . . she worked hard the week before to get ready . . . the routine is tough this year! poor kid . . . most of the front row was mia on the big day . . . so she was right there front and center! :) she did great . . . no nerves at all! :) can't wait to see the real thing! :)

mck's costume wasn't in just yet, so she wore a purple tutu and danced/sang to "baby take a bow!" she sings so loud and just loves the dance. she really has fun with it! she did great and was all smiles for the big dance! recital day . . . here we come! :)

kid's kottage picnic 2010

what a perfect day for a picnic! kid's kottage hosted their annual picnic for the family and we had a wonderful time. we all enjoyed a wonderful sack lunch and lots of sunshine and play! mck loved showing b.c. and kam around the playground equipment . . . and the little kids loved checking it all out. kid's kottage has been such a huge part of our lives for the past 6 years. it was so sad to think that this is our last family picnic there. :(
