i'm 18 months old today!

oh my . . . my little b.c. is 18 months old today! he has changed sooooo much just in the past few weeks! saying more, doing more, becoming more demanding, and more clear on all of his demands! he is hilarious and loves to do silly things to make us laugh! he is such a monkey . . . full of energy and mischief . . . crazy . . . but so hard not to love! :) he is such an amazing little guy!

b.c. loves trains, trucks, and BUZZ! :) he loves to cuddle . . . for a second . . . and loves to give hugs and kisses . . . when he's in the right mood! he is a good eater . . . but becoming a little picky! he loves milk, cheese, nodddles, and bananas . . . a typical toddler! he is finally a good sleeper . . . but wakes as soon as he hears his sisters stirring in the morning!

the girls and i decided to make a really cool train cake for his half birthday . . . but as you can see, the train didn't work . . . so we baked a heart instead . . . and iced it in blue to make it more manly! :) the girls just love their little b! he has no problem playing ponies and barbies with them (yes, i know this will change!) and they in turn LOVE playing trucks and wrestling with him! :) can't imagine a second without him! :)

at his check-up b.c. weighed 23 pounds and was inches long. he is in the 15% for his weight and 50% for his height . . . his head is still hanging in there at around 90% (he's got a lot of brains!)! :) he did great is totally healthy! :) just an active little guy! :)

my little bus riders!

so, it took some convincing, but mck finally decided she was ready to try the bus . . . just in the morning! we were ready early, took a leaisurly walk to the bus stop, hung out and played around . . . and then ken needed to go potty. so, we ran back home . . . and called it our trial run! :) we knew we would make it the next morning . . . and we did! :) the girls had a great ride to school and are even ready to try the afternoon too! :) what fun! :)

i'm 11 months old (a few days ago!)

okay, so we didn't forget that you turned 11 months, just couldn't seem to get pics! you were sick . . . or in a bad mood . . . or just plain tired almost every time i tried to take them! so, finally we managed to get your 11 month pictures! soooo bittersweet. the big ONE is right around the corner! oh my goodness!

you are into everything! you are becoming so independent . . . not wanting to hold my hand when you walk or let me hold you when you're in the pool. you love to "talk" on the phone or play with keys! you are all over the place. . . exploring everything all the time. you are a lot to keep up with, but sooooo amazing to watch! you have the brightest smile and are just such an amazing kid! you cry when someone goes outside but forgets to take you! (too cute!) you love to play outside and walk around or ride in your car. you are making it clear what you want now even more! :) we're STILL working on the sleeping through the night thing . . . hoping one year will be the magic number for you little guy! i love you so much! you are an amazing part of our family! :)

i'm 10 months old today!

my sweetest little boy! you have grown and changed so much over the past month! you've been walking for a couple of weeks now . . . getting braver by the day! you are trying to climb anything and everything - including braving the stairs! you love your "cowey" and get excited when we ask you if you want him! too cute! you have said your first word - "bye" complete with a wave! you are also saying "hi" now! you pretend most toys are phones and hold them up to your ear (this includes your sisters' dress-up shoes and bracelets!)! you have a smile that just lights up your whole face!

we have had quite a month . . . which is why this post is sooooo late. you were in no mood to take pictures . . . first an ear infection, then a double ear infection and bronchitis . . . and then another bronchial infection that they thought was pneumonia! you poor little guy! it's been a rough month . . . but you are soooo much better now! happy, smiley, and just soooo much fun! :)

you are eating everything we give you . . . no baby food for you! you don't want to snuggle and take your bottle anymore . . . you'll take a few sips then want to be left alone to do it yourself. uuuhhh. that makes me so sad. you still aren't sleeping through the night . . .you did for a few days, but then got sick . . . so i am hoping that'll happen again soon! you wake up between 3 and 4 most nights just to be changed and held . . . and then you're up around 6:30 ready to go! :)

you are such an amazing little guy. you are soooo funny and have the most amazing little laugh. i love to listen to your sisters trying to make you giggle! they try to out-do each other! you are soooo loved little guy! :)

mck graduates from pre-k

so hard to believe our baby girl is officially going to kinder! mck had her pre-k program and graduation tonight. . . complete with lots of adorable songs and a skit of "the little red hen". she did so well . . . remembered all of her lines and spoke loud enough for all to hear! we are so proud of our mck! she has had a wonderful year with ms. b as her amazing teacher and the staff we love (and will miss so dearly) at kk! we feel so lucky to have found them 6 years ago . . . and find it so hard to be leaving them!

neverland festival

this is kamy before she left with her friend miss b for the afternoon to head to the neverland festival. it was her first time away from me (without being with grammy!). she had a wonderful time! i couldn't believe she didn't miss me a bit! :) she came home with a full report on everything she got to do . . . from seeing tink, to a pony ride, to a picnic lunch! what a fun afternoon for my sweet baby girl! she had so much fun that ken and mck convinced me to take them that afternoon . . .


so it was just mck and ken and i . . . how weird to not be carrying sippy cups or a diaper bag! it was nice to spend time with just the big girls . . . we were sad that there was no appearence by tink . . . but they had fun checking things out and picking out adorable fairy wands for all the girls! we stopped on the way home for an ice cream and some playtime! what a great day!

i can tie!

ken began giving mck "tying lessons" about a year ago . . . every once in awhile she would sit down and demo how to tie . . . well, it paid off! the other day mck said, "mom, i can tie!" i watched her and she was so close! i showed her how to do it once . . . she copied it and now can do it on her own! :) we're not quite at the "mck can tie her own shoes" stage simply because we rarely have 10 minutes of time to sit and have her tie her shoes before we head out the door . . . but we'll get there soon enough! :) go mck! :)

i'm 9 months old today!

oh my. 9 months old. time just won't slow down! you are so amazing. your smile melts my heart! you are done with baby food and eat dinner with us. you love food! you love your bottle, but are getting better with your sippy cup! you LOVE cheetos, bananas, yogurt, and all kinds of fruit! you love to play, but manage to find whatever is in the room that is NOT a toy . . . an electrical outlet, a piece of lint, a stray elastic. . . and it all goes straight to your mouth! you are still not sleeping through the night regularly, but every once in awhile you do! :) you try so hard to keep up with your big sisters. you crawl really fast . . . and have even taken a step here and there. your sisters just adore you. they love you so much. you are getting to be a bit more independent and can play by yourself for a bit. you love books, well, you love to eat them! :) you love to be outside and play in the grass and you love to watch the animals and birds outside. you are an amazing little guy. i love you so much!

more trouble . . . the stairs

i walked away to do a load of laundry. it was way too quiet. i came back and found this . . .

yep, b.c. has mastered the stairs. now, nothing is safe! watch out!

mck lost her first tooth!

oh my goodness. mck and I were making faces at b.c. when she suddenly spit something into her hand and asked “mom, what’s that?” i freaked out! i was so excited for her! her first tooth! it was so little . . . too cute! she was so excited . . . not sure if it was the idea of the tooth fairy coming or the fact that she has beat ken in the “tooth loss dept.” by months (because yes, everything is already a competition! and it’s nice to see mck win every once in awhile!)
we quickly put the tooth in the pillow and put it on her bed (reminding her of course not to play with it because it could easy fall out. . . .) well, she went to read some books in her bed and came out about 5 min. later very upset saying she lost the tooth . . . so ken helped her write the tooth fairy a nice note explaining what happened (along with some great questions for her and left that instead. what a lucky girl . . . the tooth fairy came! Leaving her a pack of sugar-free bubbalicious and $2.00!

i'm eight months old today!

my sweet little guy! you are on the go now! :) you are doing a combination of army crawling and "real" crawling. you roll, scoot, wiggle and move your way to whatever you want. you are fast! and you manage to get the one thing int he room that you shouldn't have . . . and it goes straight to your mouth! we have to watch you like crazy! you want to "walk" everywhere by holding onto my fingers. you are reaching and climbing up on everything . . . the fireplace, chairs, the laudry basket . . . if you can reach it you try to pull yourself up on it. you are smiley and happy and still have an amazing giggle!
you are still waking up two times each night . . . although occasionally you give me a break and only wake up once. not sure how much longer this will last . . . but i guess you are a growing boy and need those extra calories! you weigh 20 pounds now! you love food and are eating more and more of the meals we eat! :) you love pasta and most veggies . . . you had your first fast food meal at chick-fil-a and couldn't get enough! 6 teeth have now popped through . . . completely changing your baby look to more like a little boy!
you don't care too much for your walker anymore . . . or for any other toy that keeps you in one place. you are on the go and want us to be right there with you. you still aren't too great at playing by yourself . . . you want someone with you all the time! such a high maintenance little guy. i tell you all the time it's a good thing you are cute! :)
you make me smile everyday. i love you so much. can't believe it's been eight months. where has the time gone? slow down sweet guy, slow down. (well, hurry up and sleep through the night, but stop growing!) :)

i'm seven months today!

oh my sweet little guy! already seven months old! and what a month it has been! you are pulling up on anything you can get your little hands on! you roll everywhere and are starting to get up on all fours! :) everything you pick up goes into your mouth! you are so cute and so beautiful! you are making lots of noises and talking to us!

this past month has been tough . . . you were pretty sick with whooping cough and then just when you were better you came down with a tummy bug that lasted a long time! poor little guy! you are STILL not sleeping through the night . . . i guess the one time you did it was a "false alarm"! your second tooth is still just about to pop through . . . you started trying lots of new foods, but while you were sick you kind of took a break . . . now you're back to trying anything we're eating! you just love food! :)

you love your walker and are so good at running around in it! you love the peek-a-blocks and balls! the girls love playing them with you! the time is going by so fast! you are growing so quickly! please, slow down! we love you sweet guy! :)

tub time

b.c. has officially graduated to the big tub! he loves it. he sits and splashes and tries to get whoever is in the tub with him! :) he reaches for every toy and just looks like a happy kid! :) he has even enjoyed laying back and relaxing for a bit! :) can't believe the little guy is changing so fast! :) the girls are cute . . . everyone wants to help with b.c.'s bath . . . kam wants to take a bath with him and ken and mck want to help clean him up or just hang out and watch him play! :) bath time is truly an event at our house these days! :)

b.c. sleeps through the night!

yes! it finally happened b.c. slept from 8 p.m. until 5:15 a.m.! :) i am soooooo happy! okay, so i should feel like a new woman! i haven't had a full night of sleep in more than six months, so i definitely feel better, but i think it'll take a while to feel "normal"! :) besides, he slept through the night when there was a terrible thunder storm . . . so of course i woke up and mck ended up in bed with me! the good thing is that if he can do it once chances are he'll do it on a regular basis sometime in the near future . . . right? :)

it's time for puffs! :)

yea! b.c. is LOVING puffs! :) okay, so he hasn't quite mastered the hand-to-mouth thing yet, but he's working on it . . . actually he tries REALLY hard! they all kind of get stuck in his palm and never make it in his mouth! :) lots of fun to watch!

i'm six months old today!

half a year . . . wow. it is going by way too fast! you are such a beautiful little guy! so round and chubby and smiley. your laugh is infectious! you love to be tickled! you are sitting up so well now and just can't wait to be crawling! when i leave a room and come back you are always in a different spot . . . i don't know quite how you get around so fast, but you do . . . rolling and rocking to get where you want to go . . . or screaming when you get frustrated and need help! you are eating all sorts of new foods . . . sweet potatoes, squash, yogurt, apples, bananas, green beans, peas, carrots! you don't really want your paci very often and really don't suck your thumb yet. you love your walker and zoom around the floor! you are still not sleeping through the night, but just within the past week started waking up only once during the night! :) (mommy is very happy!) you even got your first tooth (finally!) and are working on your second!

you are an amazing little guy! already so different from the baby we brought home from the hospital! where is the time going! i want you to slow down . . . you are changing too fast! you seem like you're already in such a rush to catch up to your big sisters! we love you so much and cannot imagine a day without you! we love you little bentley cole! :)

today we celebrated your half birthday. ken, mck, and kam made cupcakes for you with dinosaur sprinkles! :) you got a cute little outfit and a fun toy for the car! :) you loved the frosting on your cupcake and would have eaten more if i'd let you! :)

another first . . . cereal! . . . ewwww!

b.c. is one hungry kid. he is eating every 2-3 hours STILL! yep, four months old and still eating like a newborn! i am nursing and giving him bottles and the kid will eat like 9 ounces at once! we don't have to worry about him being small much longer! :)

so the dr. gave us the go-ahead to try cereal. it was NOT a hit. he was a smiles until he tasted it. he wanted nothing to do with it, but didn't spit it out, just held it in his mouth until he starting choking. uhhh. so, we'll try again. soon. the kids needs something to fill up his tummy! :)

i'm four months old today!

you are growing way too fast! :) you weighed 13 pounds 1 ounce and measured 26 inches long! oh my goodness! you are rolling over both ways now . . . but looked completely shocked every time you flip over! you have the sweetest giggle and are sooooo ticklish! you talk to us a lot now! such sweet noises! you are smiley and your face just lights up when we talk to you! you are still very high maintenance! i keep telling you it's a good thing you're cute . . . you are fine in your bouncy seat if i sit and talk to you . . . but if i walk away to get something done . . . you are a mess! :)
you love holding rattles now and trying to reach for things! you liked your bumbo seat for about a week and now make me so nervous because you try to escape! :) those two little teeth have still not popped through . . . you are drooling like crazy though! still not napping much . . . you like to know what's going on all the time! you are eating a lot . . . so i am guessing you're going to grow even more! :) we love you so much sweet little guy! we are sooooo in love with you!

b.c. rolls over . . . TWICE!

how fun! :) b.c. actually rolled over twice! :) he got so excited and was sooooo rpoud of himself! :) now the fun really begins! oh my goodness! :) i can't wait! :) go little guy! :)

i'm three months old today!

oh my sweet little guy! you are such a beautiful baby and are changing so fast! you are "talking" now and even giggled last week! you make all of us smile! :) you love attention . . . and need it all the time . . . or let us know that you are unhappy! you want to be held or talked to unless you are sleeping . . . you nap for about two hours a day . . . and sleep from 10-3 at night.
you are outgrowing all of your 0-3 month clothes and have filled out so much. you are working hard on those two bottom teeth and are drooling . . . a lot! sometimes your paci just isn't enough and you try to chew on your whole fist or the side of my hand! you still love your play mat, but really don't like tummy time. you have discovered the "baby" in the mirror and love smiling at him! :)

you love to do "airplane" and smile down at me while you're flying in the air. you still like the bouncy seat - but won't last long in the swings! you LOVE the carrier and are so quiet and alert when you get to hang out in it while we're outside or shopping! when you are getting tired i have to hold you just right - hold your paci in and your blanket right by your face . . . you are pretty high maintenance - cute, but high maintenance! :)
you love listening to mck talk to you and are really starting to watch all of your sisters while they play. you like to "sit" up on the floor and just hang out with us . . . you don't miss out on anything! you are now riding in the stroller without your baby seat and love being able to look around! you love being outside and getting fresh air too!
you had a few firsts this month . . . your first trip to the pumpkin patch, your first hayride, your first taste of frosting, and your first babysitter!
