fun with friends at the quarry

we met up with t and her crew at the coolest new splash park . . . the quarry! it is a huge hit with all the kiddos because there is sand AND water to play in! and a hit with me . . . because there's no standing water so i can actually enjoy watching them play! the girls love playing with the w boys! it is so cool that each of them has a pal! the kids played hard for several hours . . . in the 100 degree heat! a perfect summer day!

splash park visit for everyone! :)

this was our first visit to the splash park this year with all four kiddos! they had a great time running around with our bffs! :) what a great afternoon! :) of course i think the highlight for the kids is always snacks . . . hello, they act like they don't get fed at home! :) with sonic drinks and lots of yummy goodies, a warm sunny day (until the showers came!), and lots of room to run and splash . . . this was a perfect afternoon! :)

splash park 2010

kam, b.c., and i hit the splash park for the first time this year! i was sooooo excited for it to be a hit because it's one thing i think i can handle with all 4 kiddos . . . and it was a hit for sure! despite the freezing cold water and teenager invasion, b.c. and kam had fun getting wet! :) we can't wait to head back with the big girls! :) what a fun morning!

summer evening at the splash park

we met our bffs for a picnic dinner (well, if mcd's and pei wei qualify as a picinic . . .) and let the kids run around in the splash park. in case you haven't heard, we are in a MAJOR drought situation here. no rain. period. and even if there is any rain it hasn't been enough to make a difference. well, wouldn't you know we get settled in at the splash park and see some pretty ominous looking skies behind us . . . only to be followed by thunder and lightning . . . so, our stay was short, but the kids still managed to have fun. mck enjoyed being a "bucket head" and playing in their usual mud hole! ken just ran around like crazy getting soaked! mck loved pouring water on herself! and little b.c. didn't get wet but enjoyed sporting his super cool swim suit (yes, i know he'll hate me for it later on, but it was too cute!). can't believe we have to start waking up at the crack of dawn in a day . . . the end of summer stinks. :(

a trip for 4 to the splash park!

yea! :) a water day! b.c. made his splash park debut on monday! :) he did so great! we sat in the shade and hung out while the girls played with their friends. b.c. did great until he got hungry! he really slept well in the texas heat. ken and mck had so much fun playing with their friends g and r! they all played soooo nicely! you could tell it'd been a long time since they'd seen each other! ken and g were trying to recruit all the babies in the splash park for some time in the little splashers and playing with buckets. mck and r had more fun hanging out on the blanket eating snacks and posing and then getting totally soaked together! kam was happy with either group or just filling up buckets and dumping them out! her favorite part was having ms. s pull all of the "rings" out of the chex mix! :) what a great start to the week! :)

first visit to the splash park

we headed to the splash park after kam woke up from her nap to really get the summer started off quickly (can you tell i've been waiting to just have fun with the girls?)! i was really keeping my fingers crossed that all 3 girls would have fun at the splash park this year because i know it is one "safe" thing for me to do with them in the summer heat when the baby arrives!

well, i couldn't have been happier! ken loved running around on her own, mck switched between playing with kam and playing with ken, and kam was just happy trying to fill up buckets with water, only to pour them out again! (we're still working on the idea of putting the bucket at the bottom of the spray . . . rather than the top or the middle!)

it was so nice to see them all enjoying something and knowing that i can do this when our little guy arrives soon!
