bluebonnet pictures 2010

we're loving the bluebonnets in our own backyard this year! there are more and more everyday! sooooo beautiful! it's tempting to go out everyday and take more pictures . . . tempting, but then you realize that getting all 4 kiddos to take a good picture is near impossible! :) there are bluebonnets everywhere around us . . . so i think more pics this weekend is a must! :)

easter 2010

we had a wonderful weekend! it was so nice that my family came to spend easter with us this year! we played outside almost all day yesterday . . . croquet, bocce, jumping on the trampoline, playing on the playscape, coloring easter eggs, having a confetti egg fight, and even an early easter egg hunt! it was wonderful! grammy made a great dinner too! then we celebrated mck’s birthday a little early with tinkerbell cupcakes! it was nice for everyone to be together!

the morning was crazy but wonderful. we had an early start to the day with b.c. up before 6 and the girls following shortly thereafter. we opened baskets . . . well 4 each to be exact! one from the bunny, one from us, one from grammy and grampy, and one from tim and missy. . . . can we say spoiled kids? we all went to church service together. the service was really nice and the kids were wonderful. then we had a yummy lunch at monument café . . . a local place. (sooooo glad we opted for simple instead of the fancy place we were planning to go to . . .) it was great! we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend! thanks fam for coming! :)

bunny breakfast

the kids had so much fun at jungle java . . . meeting the easter bunny (who we determined was a person dressed up like the bunny so that the bunny could get stuff done!), eating pancakes, and playing on the playscape! they even did an easter egg hunt! ken, mck, and kam were all over the place . . . climbing up and down and going down the slides! they were pretty worn out when we left! and b.c. took quite a snooze on the way home! he loved playing in the baby area! what a great way to start the weekend!

on the way home we stopped to check out the easter chicks at the farm store. . . yes, they were dyed easter colors! too cool! the kids were in love . . . i think a chicken coop is in our future! :)

mck lost her first tooth!

oh my goodness. mck and I were making faces at b.c. when she suddenly spit something into her hand and asked “mom, what’s that?” i freaked out! i was so excited for her! her first tooth! it was so little . . . too cute! she was so excited . . . not sure if it was the idea of the tooth fairy coming or the fact that she has beat ken in the “tooth loss dept.” by months (because yes, everything is already a competition! and it’s nice to see mck win every once in awhile!)
we quickly put the tooth in the pillow and put it on her bed (reminding her of course not to play with it because it could easy fall out. . . .) well, she went to read some books in her bed and came out about 5 min. later very upset saying she lost the tooth . . . so ken helped her write the tooth fairy a nice note explaining what happened (along with some great questions for her and left that instead. what a lucky girl . . . the tooth fairy came! Leaving her a pack of sugar-free bubbalicious and $2.00!

grandparent lunch surprise

grammy got an early start to the morning and drove to g’town in time for ken’s grandparent lunch today! ken had no clue she was coming. i even told her I might not make it. she saw me and kam and gave us hugs. then looked up and saw grammy. she was so surprised and happy. what a great treat! we signed her out of school and went to play for the rest of the day!

bunny house!

the girls were so excited to decorate our first bunny house! too cute! okay, actually they just wanted tolick the frosting and eat the candy . . . but it was still fun! i think we found a new tradition! :)

gardening (and a splash day!)

bailey and the girls have been working hard on a deer-proof garden! :) after several days of work and LOTS of planting, we have a pretty big garden with LOTS of variety! the kids picked most of the plants out! (funny that ken was soooo into picking theplants out and she own't eat veggies!) the kids have had lots of fun and are anxious to see what grows! we had to have a splash day becasue they we worn out and tired! :) what fun! :)

TROUBLE!

our little guy is full of mischief! he is discovering everything! :) he loves to empty out the kidware cabinet (most often while i fix a meal, so it's totally worth the mess!) he has discovered cooper's food and water, and most recently the stairs. the kid is already a pro at getting away with stuff. you tell him "no" and he stops, looks at you, bats his big blue eyes, smiles, then does it anyway! we are in trouble! :)

celebrating the big 39!

can't believe he's 39 . . . holy crow! we celebrated on sunday with presents and dinner out and then a little cake at home! :) (yes, it was a spiderman cake! the girls were certain he would like that! and yes, it was super little because we had lots of leftover desserts from grammy's!)

he got lots of goodies . . . including a car race track which he bought for himself to play with the girls . . . yes, the girls LOVED it! he got more pictures and homeade cards throughout the day! the girls would run into the art closet and make another "gift"! so cute! even kam got in on the action! wow . . . next year's celebration will have to be big! :) happy birthday, daddy!

i'm eight months old today!

my sweet little guy! you are on the go now! :) you are doing a combination of army crawling and "real" crawling. you roll, scoot, wiggle and move your way to whatever you want. you are fast! and you manage to get the one thing int he room that you shouldn't have . . . and it goes straight to your mouth! we have to watch you like crazy! you want to "walk" everywhere by holding onto my fingers. you are reaching and climbing up on everything . . . the fireplace, chairs, the laudry basket . . . if you can reach it you try to pull yourself up on it. you are smiley and happy and still have an amazing giggle!
you are still waking up two times each night . . . although occasionally you give me a break and only wake up once. not sure how much longer this will last . . . but i guess you are a growing boy and need those extra calories! you weigh 20 pounds now! you love food and are eating more and more of the meals we eat! :) you love pasta and most veggies . . . you had your first fast food meal at chick-fil-a and couldn't get enough! 6 teeth have now popped through . . . completely changing your baby look to more like a little boy!
you don't care too much for your walker anymore . . . or for any other toy that keeps you in one place. you are on the go and want us to be right there with you. you still aren't too great at playing by yourself . . . you want someone with you all the time! such a high maintenance little guy. i tell you all the time it's a good thing you are cute! :)
you make me smile everyday. i love you so much. can't believe it's been eight months. where has the time gone? slow down sweet guy, slow down. (well, hurry up and sleep through the night, but stop growing!) :)

bouncing with all the kids!

we met our friends for a morning of bouncing! it was a little crazy (being spring break) but the kids had so much fun running around with each other! they were litteraly all sweaty by the time we went to leave. poor little kam was just a dilerious mess at the end. she had tried so hard to keep up with the big kids. what a fun day!

zilker park kite festival 2010

we were so excited that the kite festival was rescheduled and we got to go! there is nothing cooler than a sky full of kites . . . okay, maybe it’s even cooler to watch the kids reaction to a sky full of kites! it was a warm day and we walked about 2 miles with all 4 kids and waited in line for 30 minutes to use a port-a-potty. . . i kept wondering what we were thinking . . . but then when you see how excited the kids got, it was worth it all! we even got to see a HUGE homemade kite fly . . . it took four guys to carry it and get it up in the air! so cool! bailey was even brave enough to try to fly one of our kites! We stopped to get an ice cream at amy’s and climb on the cows. . . a perfect end to the day . . . oh, and it just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention that while driving back from Austin, bailey failed to check the gas gauge and we ran out of gas about two miles from the house. did i mention that this was about 6 in the evening . . . after being gone with all 4 kids ALL day.? fun. bailey ran home and drove back in his truck with some gas. the girls were cheering like he was a hero . . . i tried to make it clear that it was his fault . . . they still kept cheering! :)

backyard camp out

what a way to start our spring break! a backyard camp out! okay, so I am not quite brave enough to do “real” camping with the baby just yet. . . maybe when he’s walking . . . so a backyard camp out was the perfect option! the girls and bailey set up the tent. the kids had so much fun just playing in it! too cute! our bffs joined us to make it even more fun! the kids ran around, played, played flashlight tag, ate tons of junk (hot dogs, mac and cheese, pop rocks, s’mores, chips, hot chocolate . . .), and crashed out in the tent! we sat around and talked for a bit . . . then the moms (b.c. slept inside too!) headed inside to sleep in comfort, while the dads roughed it outside with the kiddos! does it get any better? can’t wait to do it again soon!

who could resist a free day at the bouncy house with our mom’s group . . . not me! kam and b.c. had so much fun! kam is so brave now . . . climbing to the top of the huge slide all by herself! b.c. had fun crawling around in the little bouncy and rolling around! can’t wait to head back with the big girls!

watchdog dad day!

ken was thrilled to bring daddy to school for the day as her "watchdog dad". it was a treat for him to get an inside look at what goes on at school and what ken is up to all day! the little kids and i brought lunch to them and we brought cupcakes to celebrate ken's birthday too! :) what fun! :)

ken's "special" birthday!

so this birthday was kennedy's "special birthday" because she was turning seven and it's on the 7th! (this was her idea!) she kept saying over and over "this is my special birthday and i am having the specialist weekend!". very sweet! she had a great time . . . and a very busy weekend! beginning with a sleepover and two other birthday parties to go to and then our family celebration today . . . the kids are worn out! kennedy probably hugged me ten times today and told me thank you! that makes everything worth it!

she awoke to a room full of streamers and balloons and her morning gift . . . her birthday tee, birthday outfit, and a book (the usual birthday starter!) the kids went with bailey to get donuts and her day was made when they gave her a free sprinkle donut because it was her birthday! (they gave b.c. a bag of donut holes because he was cute!) :)
the kids played, we opened presents slowly . . . they played some more! we had a yummy (and rather quiet) dinner (b.c. slept almost the whole time!). and had a super yummy ice cream cake from shakes topped with sparkler candles to end the day! :) a perfect start to her seventh year! :)

i'm seven today!

my sweet baby girl! seven years old! so hard to believe! you are such an amazing kid! you are soooo smart! you do so well in school and, i am proud to say, becoming quite the little bookworm! :) you amaze me everyday with the things that you do! you are so beautiful and so talented! you love to be outside . . . playing and building and creating. you are an amazing big sister to your sisters and such a big help with your brother! you are responsible and helpful and mature . . . but goofy and silly and funny too! :) you are strong-willed, but so sweet. you love to do crafts and create. you love to use your imagination. you love to dance and dress-up. you love to sing and learn new things!
i cannot imagine life without you! you are such a bright light in our family! happy birthday my sweet girl! :) have a wonderful day!

ken's first sleepover!

yep, our baby is growing up! :) as a treat for her birthday (because we do a trip instead of a party!) ken got to have her friend g spend the night! what a fun evening they had! they played, ate pizza and soda, and acted goofy! :) then they dressed in their p.j.'s and robes and we headed to the movies . . . after a quick stop to pick up some goodies! they saw princess and the frog (OOOH! love that movie!). we headed home and they snuggled up to watch a hannah movie and talk . . . they were out by midnight! :) and up around 6:30!!!! they had fun doing a craft and having a yummy breakfast! :) what a fun first sleepover! ken said several times "thanks so much mom!" sooooo worth it! :) is it possible that my baby turns 7 tomorrow? 7 years? how did it go by so fast?

perfect weather for a park day!

kam, b.c., and i had a wonderful morning at the park. the weather was perfect . . . the park was perfect . . . we even had a perfect picnic! kam is so much fun at the park, becoming more and more adventurous each time! :) b.c. is following in her footsteps and now wants to get down instead of being carried around . . . of course he only wants to get down so he can eat the mulch . . . but he keeps things exciting! :)

b.c. has never had juice . . . he found kam's juice box on the blanket, tipped it over, and starting lapping it off the blanket like a dog! he had his face pressed into it! :) so funny! :) kam loved that she got to pack her lunch in a lunch box . . . like a big kid! :) ohhhhh! this spring/summer will be sooooo much fun! :)

western day!

okay . . . mck looked too cute not to snap a picture of her dressed up for western day! she loved dressing the part of a cowgirl . . . okay, her version of a cowgirl . . . complete with my hat, tights and a skirt! sooooo cute! :) she had so much fun at school today! :) roping, shooting, and playing the part!
