it's time for puffs! :)

yea! b.c. is LOVING puffs! :) okay, so he hasn't quite mastered the hand-to-mouth thing yet, but he's working on it . . . actually he tries REALLY hard! they all kind of get stuck in his palm and never make it in his mouth! :) lots of fun to watch!

100 days of pre-k

okay, so mck hasn't officially been there for all of the 100 days . . . probably closer to 60, but she enjoyed celebrating 100 days by bringing in 100 pez! the crazy thing was, this activity took a long time! who knew unwrapping 100 pez could take almost an hour! :) mck had lots of fun counting by ones and tens (and eating a few here and there!). i think she may have eaten a few too many . . . when she counted them at school she only had 97! :)

"big boy" crib

i finally took the bumper out of b.c.'s bed. i was never in a rush because he STILL has not rolled over in his bed . . . not even once! he is rolling over like crazy on the floor, but not once in his bed! i swear he might sleep better if he just tried his tummy . . . but i'm too much of a rule follower to stick him on his tummy when i lay him down! anyway . . . his crib looks so different . . . so much more like a big boy bed! i am so ready for him to sleep through the night and actually nap, but i sure am not ready for him to stop being a baby!

another first . . . baby einstein!

is b.c. already a typical guy or what? this is him glued to the screen watching his first movie . . . a baby einstein video about the farm! :) it was too cute not to capture this "man" moment! :) it didn't last long . . . he was more interested in playing little people with us than the t.v.! :)

a glimpse into the future with mck!

picture this . . .
mck had to drive the cinderella car into the garage when we were cleaning up the other day. i am watching her . . . she backs the car straight into a tree . . . a really LARGE tree at the end of our driveway . . . and NEVER turns around to see what she's hit. in fact, she keeps her foot on the gas pedal until i yell at her and ask her if she realizes she's hit the tree. she takes her foot off the pedal, turns around, looks, and says "oh!". . .
then she starts down the driveway. the van is parked all the way to the right side of the driveway. she proceeds to drive around the right side of the van . . . where there's NO chance she'll make it into the garage. in fact, she knows this, so she drives off the driveway and straight into the trashcan. i ask her again what she's doing and what she's thinking. she replies with "i don't know." i tell her to back the car up and drive it around the van and into the garage.
she backs it up. again, without looking. she runs straight into bailey's truck. in fact, she hits the truck so hard that she wedges the car underneath the step on the side of it and shatters the taillight of the cinderella car.
at this point, i just took over. grounded her from the car for a week and drove the car into the garage myself. when i had her tell daddy "what happened to the car?" she answered, "i don't know!" bailey asked a million questions including asking her how she would pay for the taillight :) . . . we stopped mid-conversation and realized we'll be having this conversation for REAL in about 12 years with little mck. she is so darn cute, but such a mess! :) sweet baby girl! :)

a party fit for a princess

the girls had so much fun at a party for their friend miss k. at party palace . . . hello, what could be more perfect than a party where you get to be a princess . . . complete with tiara, nail polish, a make-up? . . . especially for my 3 little girls!!! the girls were in heaven and tlaked about the party for hours! :) thanks so much ms. s! we had a wonderful time! :)

many mini marshmallows!

the girls and i hosted a "many mini marshmallows" play date . . . we decorated hot chocolate "cups" with the kids fingerprints, drank hot chocolate with LOTS of marshmallows, and snacked on goodies! :) kam decorated hers with lots of "chocolate paint" and blue marker . . . mck was an awesome painter and then decorated hers with flowers and tons of "marshmallow" fingerprints!

when i planned the date it was a chilly 30 something out . . . crazy, unpredictable texas weather! today it was 70 something and gorgeous! not exactly hot chocolate weather, but the kids had fun playing outside and enjoying the gorgeous weather! :)

like christmas in january!

now that b.c. is 6 months old, it was time to pull out some "new" toys! wow! b.c. had so much fun checking out all the blocks and balls! i think these toys were the best purchase we made . . . the girls LOVED "showing b.c." how to do everything . . . funny that i took b.c. downstairs to eat and they were still playing with all of it! :) kam still claims that all of these toys are "mine", but "b.c. can use them for a little bit". sweet girl. still wants to be the baby of the family! :)

i'm six months old today!

half a year . . . wow. it is going by way too fast! you are such a beautiful little guy! so round and chubby and smiley. your laugh is infectious! you love to be tickled! you are sitting up so well now and just can't wait to be crawling! when i leave a room and come back you are always in a different spot . . . i don't know quite how you get around so fast, but you do . . . rolling and rocking to get where you want to go . . . or screaming when you get frustrated and need help! you are eating all sorts of new foods . . . sweet potatoes, squash, yogurt, apples, bananas, green beans, peas, carrots! you don't really want your paci very often and really don't suck your thumb yet. you love your walker and zoom around the floor! you are still not sleeping through the night, but just within the past week started waking up only once during the night! :) (mommy is very happy!) you even got your first tooth (finally!) and are working on your second!

you are an amazing little guy! already so different from the baby we brought home from the hospital! where is the time going! i want you to slow down . . . you are changing too fast! you seem like you're already in such a rush to catch up to your big sisters! we love you so much and cannot imagine a day without you! we love you little bentley cole! :)

for the birds

the girls and i made pine cone bird feeders for the "flock" of birds we have in our yard! :) it was lots of fun to watch them do almost all of it themselves! :) kam and i hung half and ken and mck took the other half! the birds were really happy! :) kam loved watching them hang upside down on the pine cones to get every bit of seed! :) what a treat this "country" life is! every morning through the kitchen window there are at least 20 birds on the tree! :) what a way to start the day!

my little fashion designers

so, dress up has taken on a whole new theme . . . designing fashions! the girls put together these crazy outfits (most of the out of scarves!) and model them! where did ken learn to pose like that? mck's strategy . . . the more she can pile on the better! the more accessories and bling . . . the cooler she looks! some of them are a little too revealing to be seen on the streets . . . but it's so fun to see how creative they can be! :) ken wanted to know why she couldn't go feed the goats in the outfit in the bottom leaft/right corners! we might be in trouble!:)

dress up play date

kam and mck had a blast at a dress up play date! :) everyone brought fun stuff to share! they loved trying on everyone's goodies . . . including some boy stuff that we just don't have yet! what a fun idea! :) they could have stayed trying on clothes all day! :)

trampoline time!

we took advantage of a visit from grammy and grampy to have grampy help put together the trampoline! :) it was a little chilly, but they got it done in just a few hours . . . then we all got to enjoy the fun! :)

camping "out"

we promised the girls we'd sleep in the tent sometime over the break . . . well, the weather just wasn't quite warm enough . . . so instead we set up the tent in the extra bedroom and they had an indoor camp out! :) 3 little girls in a very tiny tent made for a crowded sleeping arrangment, but they loved it! :) they talked and giggled and read stories for a few hours before falling asleep! :) can't wait till we can camp for real! :)

playing with the kids!

the girls have had a wonderful time with peanut and rocky! :) they will chase them around int he pen for hours! :) we can't tell if the goats are enjoying it or if it's pure torture . . . but slowly and surely they're getting used to us! :) what fun! :) they "cry" every time we walk outside . . . just wanting some attention! :) very cute! :) it is so fun to watch the two of them together . . . they really love each other! they cry when they're separated too! :) who would have thought i'd be enjoying the country life?

daddy gave in! :)

after LOTS of work on ken's part (and a little from mck!) (a good year's worth of discussions!), she finally convinced bailey to let her get her ears pierced! and after he agreed to let ken, he let mck decide if she could tag along and get hers done too! :)

we headed to claire's when there were two girls working . . . i wasn't heading home with only one ear pierced! :) the girls LOVED picking out their earring's. . . ken picked her birthstone and new favorite color . . . light blue! and mck picked pink flowers that are super sparkly! :) too fun! :) they did great . . . for wimpy girls they were pretty tough! they look so adorable . . . every time they look in the mirror i can see them checking out their new "bling"! :)

christmas day

we spent the whole day in our p.j.'s . . . does it get any better than that? the girls were thrilled with all of their gifts. santa brought them things that they were wishing for . . . kam's "dora soft baby", ken and mck got mp3 players, and b.c. got lots of great "boy toys". they got a surprise gift from grammy, grampy, and gigi . . . a trampoline that is sure to get lots of use! :) we tried to make the morning last as long as possible, taking several hot chocolate breaks to stretch things out! :) nothing like hot chocolate, marshmallows, and a sugar cookie at 9:30 in the morning! we played with the kids all day long and then had a yummy dinner on nana's china . . . in our p.j.'s! :) i think this was the best christmas ever! :)
we traveled to grammy and grampy's house for a belated christmas celebration and dinner on saturday. it was great to see everyone! we had a wonderful gift exchange ($5 limit!) and watched the kids open goodies. dinner was wonderful! we visited with the baileys on sunday for the day. the kids ran around outside enjoying the beautiful weather. gigi was thrilled to see all of them together. the girls loved seeing pa and keep talking about his magic! :)

christmas eve

a wonderful day at home! :) we made our gingerbread house, sugar cookies, and pretzels, played, watched the snowflakes, got dressed up, headed to church, saw more beautiful snowflakes, had a wonderful dinner of munchies, got matching p.j.'s (dorky, yes! but so much fun!), got ready for santa, and went to bed. . . such fun! :)

another early gift . . . 2 more kids! :)

yes, we have two new additions to our family! we have so much land we feel like the kids should have the chance to have some amazing experiences! so . . . bailey worked on a pen for our new twin baby boy goats all week! the girls were thrilled to find out that peanut butter and rocky road will get to come live with us! they can't wait! :) (just what i need . . . two more kids!) :) we'll bring them home next week! :)

a little bit of christmas a little bit early

the girls got to open one of their christmas presents super early this year . . . six flags passes for 2010! i was all packed up when bailey got home from work and ken arrived home from school. we gave them their gifts and told them to hop in the car . . . they couldn't beloieve we were heading there right away! :) (of course they were also thrilled that we would be staying in a hotel for two nights . . . such a treat!) we met grampy, uncle tim, aunt missy and baby sophia there too! (so sad grammy and sarah couldn't be there . . . next time - for sure!)

we walked the river walk, played for 6 hours at six flags, visited the zoo . . . what a great weekend! the lights along the riverwalk and at six flags were so cool. the lighting of the tree at the park was awesome! the kids had so much fun! we can't wait to head back again soon!
